What is the Process of Copyright Registration in India?
- First Step to get your copyright Registered is to provide us with all the documents
and necessary information about the work you want copyright registration for.
Applicant will need to send us three copies of their work, from which one copy would
be sent back with a seal and remaining two will be held with confidentiality by the
copyright office.
- After that an application will be submitted by an advocate under whose name power of
attorney has been executed.
- Then with all the documents and forms, the Copyright Registration application will
be prepared and submitted with the copyright Registrar.
- Once the copyright registration application is submitted then you will be issued the
Diary Number.
- Now, the copyright Examiner reviews the application for any disagreements or
objections within the time period of 30 days.
- Now after the disagreements have been removed or there are no objections at all then
the copyright Office will issue an Extract of Register of Copyrights (ROC)
which is a Registration Certificate.
- After this, you will be given a diary number and the registration will take 12
months from this day. There may be a chance of getting notified for doing some
clarification or changes in the application. We will continuously update you on any
notifications regarding the same. In-between clarification and changes will cost you
Rs. 1500.
